"Above the Bitter Cafe" was first produced at Warren High School in Downey, California and in addition, Churchill High School, Fallon, Nevada, in 2006.
 
Jenny Ananias is on the verge of being fired from her high school teaching job.  So what better time to take a group of students on a New York theatre trip? 

Now to be fair, things were actually going smoothly for Mrs. Ananias at first--until that unfortunate "coin off the Empire State Building" incident.  Of course, there was that typical teacher/student romance misunderstanding that happens on all student trips...and the angry, browless cafe manager...and the bungee jumping with the Martha Stewart bed sheets...

And of course, a handful of angry Muppets...
